I am writing hoping that someone of my relatives in exile will read this message and will contact me soon.
My mother is from al-Damoun. She is 82 yrs old but she has never stopped telling the stories of her life and her family while they were still living in al-Damoun until 1948. She is from Othman family and which, as the majority of the village's families, ended up as refugees in the survived neighboring villages, Tamra, Kabul, and Sha'ab. My grandfather Ibrahim al-Othman died in 1966 without seeing his two daughters who ended up refugees in Lebanon and Iraq. We had the opportunity to hear about my aunt, Fatmah Darwish, the one in Lebanon, and we also met with few of her offspring. However, we never ever had learned or heard anything about my aunt Amnah and her family, the one that had ended up refugee in Iraq.
The family of my aunt Amneh is from Igzim, a village near Haifa. The village was destroyed entirely in 1948 (actually bombed by the aircraft of Azer Weizzman, the former president of Israel, according to his confession in an election campign that took place at the University of Haifa in 1988). My mother is still hoping that one day she will hear from her sister's family that hasn؟t heard any news about them for about 55 years now. My mother knows that her sister is a dead woman already. She never stopped blaming me that I am not making any effort to find out about her sister's family.
My concern is that my aunt's family has been going through a second circle of being refugees, and most likely they are in the camp that had been established recently as a result of the American occupation to Iraq.
I would like to ask for help if anyone knows a Palestinian family that came from Igzim and had lived until recently in Iraq , to contact me.. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

My name is Samer Zidany & originally I am from Damun, Akka. I have heard so many stories about it from my grandfather, grand mother, cousins, & even my dad who was born in Lebanon.
Anyway, I would like to share some information which I know about al-Damun, such as the families who used to call it home:
Zidany and Bekae were the 2 biggest families.
Then they were followed by:
Loubani, Abu Ali, Ferghawi, Abu Shaheen and Awad.
Thanks a lot, and if I get more information from my parents, I'll keep you posted.
