Posted by ابو احمد on February 11, 2008 #28937 يقع جبل النبي غيث أو جبل الأرواح في الجهة الشمالية لبلدة دير عمار القديمة في محافظة رام الله، والرواية الأرجح لقصة هذا الجبل، أنه كان أجرداً بلا شجر، وفي زمن ما أنتقل رجل متعبد اسمع غيث للسكن عليه بعيداً عن البلد، وبنى له مسكناً متواضعاً أتخذ فيما بعد كمقام مقدس، صار يسمى جبل النبي غيث، الذي زرع أشجار الصنوبر حول بيه، ولكون الرجل كان بقضي وقته في الصلاة والعبادة، أعتقد الناس في حينه أنه رجل مبارك ودعواته مستجابة، صار الناس يلجأون إليه. تواصل رومية حديثها لتقول: تطور الأمر بعد موته فأصبح الناس يزورون مكانه ويدعون الله فيه. تضيف: إبان الحكم الأردني للضفة الغربية زرعت أشجار حرجية حول الأشجار القديمة، ضمن مخطط لزراعة الجبل برمته، بيد أن خشية الأهالي على أراضيهم الزراعية وضع حدا لمخطط التشجير، فتوقفت الأشجار عند الحد الموجود الآن، والذي يظهر الجبل وكأنه يرتدي قبعة خضراء، واستغلت السلطات المحلية بساطة الناس، وربطت الشجر الصغير بقداسة المكان وأن النبي غبث سيغضب عليهم إذا ما مسوا الشجر، وهذا الذي حدث، فلا أحد بقطع شجر النبي خشية غضبه.
