Town's name through history The Romans referred to Jaba' by Gabata.
Schools Jaba' had an elementary school for boys, which was founded by the Ottomans in 1885.
Shrines/maqams One shrine (still standing) for an unknown individual.
Nearby wadies & rivers The village bordered Wadi al-Maghara
Archeological sites The village contained mosaic remains, tombs cut into the rock, and other architectural remnants attest to the antiquity of the village.

According to the Palestinian historian Walid Khalidi, the village remaining structures on the village land are:
"Piles of stone rubble can be seen on the site. A shrine is still standing on an elevated part of it. Pine forests grow over the land in the vicinity."
